Martha Savitzky

Born and raised in the New York City area; introduced to various artistic media with aesthetics honed at Manhattan’s School of Visual Arts; supported by creative directing in message-based advertising field while harboring a passion for intrinsic creative expression coupled with often frustrating, and sporadically rewarding, skill building.
With memories of playing-with-clay in nursery school (!) and introduction to ceramic throwing and hand-building at Greenwich House in NYC, departed advertising and found core passion for ‘mud’ medium in Asheville with thematic inspiration from the oak trees surrounding her Home.
Tony Micocci

Following a career managing and teaching in the field of arts and culture, Tony returns to a core passion for working wood pursuing special interest in turning. Tony’s love for the medium was inspired by restoring wooden sailboats with his dad in his youth, and later building musical instruments under the renowned Gunnar Schoenbeck at Bennington College.
Supported by the artisan-rich Western North Carolina environment and fellow members of the Carolina Mountain Woodturners Association, Tony continually explores new forms, finishes and wood species – often including oak!
